Course Overview
Criminology is the scientific study of deviant behavior, the laws that are there to protect, the justice system, how to safeguard, and the duty of care we have to the people who have engaged in deviant behavior. Although criminology is one of the oldest social sciences, technological advancements and societal changes mean that the subject is always changing. This BSc (Hons) Criminology with Integrated Foundation Year course is for you if you have not met the course entry requirements yet, or if you feel like you may need a little more preparation to make the most of your university studies. This course can lead to future careers in the police, social work, the legal system, and occupations working with offenders and their families. You will graduate with a strong insight into deviant behavior and employable skills that will prepare you to work in a wide range of fields. During the course, you will develop critical and analytical skills, learn how to handle data, and manage your own independent project. You will gain the necessary skills to start a career in the criminal justice system.

This BSc (Hons) Criminology degree prepares you for a range of careers. You could work in welfare careers like social work or the probation service or in areas such as the prison service, police, or the Home Office.
